Team India defeated defending champions England by 100 runs in their sixth game of the ODI World Cup 2023 on October 29 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Notably, Rohit Sharma and Co. are currently in the top spot after six out of six wins in the tournament so far and are currently unbeaten in the tournament. However, former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer took a slight dig at his Twitter rival Michael Vaughan after India’s win over England on Sunday.
The well-renowned cricket analyst took to Twitter and called the former English star to cheer up despite their loss over the Men in Blue. The 45-year-old cricketer says that the Three Lions can definitely qualify for the Champions Trophy 2025 if they finish up in the top 7. Notably, a few days ago, Vaughan wrote that the English set-up could qualify for the semi-finals despite their back-to-back losses in the event.
“Cheer up @MichaelVaughan. I think England can still qualify… For Champions Trophy 2025 by finishing in top 7,” Wasim Jaffer wrote on X.

But the former English cricketer doesn’t believe that. Replying to Jaffer’s tweet, Vaughan wrote on X, “That looks a long way off at this stage Wasim.”

England are just out of confidence and it’s clear they now need a 50-over reset: Michael Vaughan
Meanwhile, former English skipper Michael Vaughan heaped praise on the host nation for their tremendous back-to-back win in the ODI World Cup 2023. The legendary cricketer feels the Men in Blue were too good again with their high-class bowling in the marquee event. In addition, the 49-year-old cricketer says that the defending champions England are out of confidence and need to reset their 50-over format after this marquee event.
“India too good once again .. The bowling is high class .. England are just out of confidence and it’s clear they now need a 50 over reset .. but let’s not forget how good this group have been & how much joy they brought many for 7 yrs,” Michael Vaughan wrote on X.
