Former India skipper Virat Kohli has thanked former cricketer Yuvraj Singh for the golden boots the latter gifted to him. On February 22, Singh gifted Kohli a pair of golden boots and penned a long note explaining his journey with the latter. Further, he spoke about the discipline, leadership skills and how much of an inspirational figure the right-hander has become.
On February 23, Kohli thanked the left-hander for the gift and penned in a long note. He said that the gift means a lot and added that Singh’s comeback after surviving cancer is inspirational for people from all walks of life. In 2011, after winning the World Cup, the 304-ODI veteran went to the US as he was diagnosed with cancer.
“Coming from someone who’s seen my career unfold from day 1, it means a lot. Your life and your comeback from cancer was, is and will always be an inspiration for people in all walks of life not just cricket,†Kohli wrote.
Kohli wished the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup winner best for the journey of parenthood. “Now we’re both parents and know what a blessing that is. I wish you all the happiness, beautiful memories and blessings in this new journey,†the former added.
Both players have played with each other from 2008 to 2017. In 2011, both were part of the World Cup winning team, with the 40-Test player winning the ‘Player Of The Tournament award with his all-round performance.
