Virat Kohli, the Indian star batter, was rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka that concluded on January 7, Saturday and the batter came up with an Instagram story on the birth anniversary of late Bollywood actor Irfan Khan. Sharing a quote on his Instagram account, Kohli remembered the late actor and one has to agree that he got a little emotional as he did.

For the unversed, the Indian superstar was not a part of the squad that won the series 2-1 and it remains to be seen if he would continue to be a part of the setup. Although the Indian cricket board did not give a proper clarification on the same, one has to agree that the board is trying to move on and rope in youngsters.

Here is Virat Kohli’s Instagram story:

Could Virat Kohli regain his old touch back?

One has to agree that the Indian superstar made a mighty comeback post his break prior to the start of the Asia Cup 2022. It was during the continental tournament, he reached his first-ever T20I hundred, thereby ending his century drought and much to the surprise of the Indian fans, the batter also scored his 72nd international hundred during the ODI series against Bangladesh.

India and the Lankan Lions will face off against each other in the three-match ODI series set to get underway on January 10, Tuesday and the team would hope to give it their all, clinching the series. It would be vital for the Indian team and Kohli as well to do well given that there is a 50-over World Cup scheduled to take place later in India this year.

With the return of Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Kohli, the Indian team looks dangerous and would leave no stone unturned to take on the Island Nation who would look to emulate the strength that they show in their home. One has to agree that the Indian team have a pretty strong bowling line-up with the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.
