India and Australia clashed against each other in the first match of the four-match Test series at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The Rohit Sharma-led team clinched a promising victory against the Australian team by an inning and 132 runs. Rohit smashed his 9th Test century and the first as a Test captain.
Meanwhile, a video of him, during the match, is getting viral on social media. In the video, he is seen drinking something from a green bottle. However, later, he realized that there is nothing in the bottle and he looked completely clueless. However, the camera caught his reaction and someone posted it on social. Rohit scored 120 runs in the first Test which included 15 fours and 2 sixes. He also became the first-ever Indian captain to smash a century in all three formats. After India’s win, Rohit addressed the media where a reporter reminded Rohit of India’s dreamy comeback in the 2020/21 series and asked if Australia could pull off the same in India with three Tests remaining in the contest. Rohit said that he expects a fightback from the Australian team.
“Good one. Australia is always a good team. The good thing about this team is we don’t think about what has happened in the past. It’s important to stay in the present. Lot of the guys who played in that series are not here for Australia. For us as well, a few guys are missing,” Rohit was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
“Australia love playing Test cricket. They pride themselves in coming out and representing their country. We are quite aware of them bouncing back. We are pretty much aware of what they can do as a team. By no means are we ruling them out. We want to play the cricket that we played in this game.” He added.
