Jonty Rhodes, Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants fielding coach Jonty Rhodes has claimed that the unruly Hyderabad crowd threw nut-bolts at Prerak Mankad. Apparently, during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants game on May 13, the home team, SRH reviewed for a no-ball. Heinrich Klassen claimed for a waist-height no-ball but the third umpire didn’t rule in his favor. This led to the crowd getting angry.

At the time, it was reported that the fan attacked LSG’s dugout. Not to forget, after the first innings, Klassen expressed his anger during an interaction with the broadcaster. “Disappointed with the crowd. That’s not what you want at the venue. Very disappointed (because) that broke our momentum. Not a great umpiring decision being made there, but it’s part of the game,” Klaasen said.

Meanwhile, hours later, Rhodes went on to claim that the crowd didn’t hit the dugout but uncapped Indian player, Prerak Mankad. This left the fans shocked.

It was the most important game for me: Prerak Mankad

Meanwhile, in the game, the 2016 champions amassed 182/6. In reply, the Blue Brigade, LSG lost the wicket of Kyle Mayers in the fourth over. Mankad batted at number and scored an unbeaten 64 off 45 balls including seven fours and two sixes. He was adjudged the Player of the Match.

“It was the most important game. Score doesn’t matter to me. I wasn’t happy when I reached 50 because I couldn’t connect well. After that I was able to. I was trying to hit against the spinners and couldn’t connect. I have played against Mayank in the domestic circuit and I knew he would try to get me out. So I took my chance. I thank the management for the opportunity. I have played a few innings in the top four. so I know how to play and I just backed my ability. Stoinis gave me some wise advice at the end and it helped me.”
