'Trophy baad mein jeetna bhai pehle Twitter bachaalo' - Fans troll Bangalore team as their Twitter account gets hacked

The Bangalore franchise’s Twitter account was hacked in the early hours of January 21, Saturday and it is the second time the account is being hacked after September 2021. For the unversed, the account was hacked by a team named ‘Bored Ape Yacht Club’ who started posting Tweets related to NFTs and related retweets.

As far as the previous hack is concerned, it happened in September 2021 and the Bangalore franchise’s social media team was quick enough to restore the account, who in turn took to the micro-blogging site to express their displeasure over the incident and apologise for the same. However, they are yet to give an official clarification on Saturday’s incident and fans, who took cognizance of the same, started to troll the franchise saying that their account has been hacked more times than they have played the finals in the Indian T20 League

“Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the franchise had tweeted the last time their account was hacked.

Can Bangalore give their best in upcoming edition?

The Bangalore camp reached the summit game last time in 2016 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli and given that they are now led by the South African star Faf du Plessis for the second time, fans hope that he would lead the side to glory for the first time ever. To add more, Bangalore have reached finals thrice in history and lost all three times.

Their first-ever appearance came in 2009 when they lost to the Adam Glichrist-led team and lost once again in 2011 against the Chennai brigade. It remains to be seen if they would prove critics wrong in the upcoming edition, although fans claim that it would be an uphill task given the likes of Mumbai, Chennai, Gujarat and Lucknow have a pretty strong squad post the conclusion of the mini-auction.

Here’s how fans have reacted to the Bangalore franchise’s social media account being hacked:
