The statement of Mickey Arthur regarding lack of support in Ahmedabad for Pakistan against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup has received mixed reactions. While many have not agreed with the argument of the Pakistan coach, some have agreed with him. Arthur claimed the match to be organized by the Indian cricket board, rather than the international cricket board.
Arthur also alleged that the DJ in Ahmedabad did not play ‘Dil dil Pakistan’ song, which was not good for Pakistan players. The allegation of Arthur was considered by international cricket board, as they addressed the issue with a committee to look after it. Fans did not like what Arthur had to talk about the Indian team after the match. Many asked him to concentrate about the weakness of Pakistan.
The former England captain Michael Vaughan has a funny take on the incident. When asked about the same in an interview, Vaughan funnily said that the Indian captain Rohit Sharma asked the DJ in Ahmedabad not to play the song, as Pakistan would win the game by doing so. The take of Vaughan has gone viral on social media, as fans are having a laugh about it.

“Rohit Sharma asked the Ahmedabad DJ to not play ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’, because he knew if Pakistan heard that song, they would win the game. So obviously Rohit told DJ to not play that inspirational song so India can win (smiles),” said Vaughan in an interview recently. Pakistan said that they would take the issue to the international cricket board to settle down the things.
Pakistan took on Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup after the match against India. The Asian team conceded 367 runs and lost the match by 62 runs. Despite being in a good position at one point in the match, Pakistan could not finish the game. As a result, Pakistan ended up conceding the game to Australia. India though, won the fourth match of their campaign by beating Bangladesh in Pune.
