Batting first, England lost their three wickets on the score of 84 runs. But it was the time when the 34-year-old Malan took charge and smashed Indian bowlers throughout the entire ground. Chasing a massive target, the visitors were looking in trouble when they lost their three wickets only on the score of 31. Then onwards, the Mumbai-based batter Suryakumar Yadav held his nerves and made a very important partnership of 119 runs with Shreyas Iyer for the fourth wicket.

With the fall of Shreyas Iyer, the Indian middle-order collapsed drastically but SKY maintained his calm. He went on to hit an amazing century and score 117 runs before getting succumbed to senior English all-rounder Moeen Ali in the 19th over. Eventually, Suryakumar Yadav’s extraordinary efforts went in vain and India lost the match by 17 runs. However, India had already taken a winning lead in the series. So, Rohit’s men won the series with a score line of 2-1.
