Ever since it was invented in 2003, T20 cricket has taken the cricketing fraternity by storm. The format has been widely accepted all over the world as the most entertaining format of the game. The major reason for the rise in popularity of the T20s are the domestic T20 Leagues played all across the globe. While there are some leagues which get huge investments every year, there are some that manage to grab the eyeballs despite the lesser amount of money involved.
The Indian T20 League is the most popular and richest cricketing league in the world. Despite having huge investments, the biggest stars and record-breaking deals, the tournament falls short on several aspects making other domestic leagues a bit better than the cash-rich league. On that note, let’s take a look at three reasons why Pakistan’s premier T20 competition ‘Pakistan Super League’ or PSL is better than Indian T20 League:
1 Shorter Tournament – The Indian T20 League after the addition of the two new teams Gujarat and Lucknow ran for a whopping 65 days in 2022. A total of 74 matches were played, a number which is going to shoot up in the upcoming years. On the other hand, PSL 2023 will be contested among six teams who will play 34 matches across 36 days. In comparison to Indian T20 League, PSL is less mentally taxing for players due to its shorter duration.
