Head coach of the Indian cricket team Rahul Dravid gave a significant update on Virat Kohli’s possible comeback to the team for the three Test matches left in the current five-match series against England. Since the series was still knotted at one, there were rumours that Kohli may make a comeback after missing the first two games for “personal reasons.”
When the media questioned Dravid about Kohli’s condition after India won the second Test, he replied he thought the selectors are the right people to ask. He did, however, add that the squad selection will happen over a couple of days and that the superstar batter would be contacted by the management to determine the next move.
Rahul Dravid said, “I think it’s best to ask the selectors. I am sure they are the best people to answer ahead of the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure there will be selection over the next few days. We will connect with him and find out.”
“His second child is on the way” : Virat Kohli
Ab de Villiers, the former colleague of Virat Kohli, disclosed the cause of his time away from the cricket pitch. He spoke about his last conversation with the former Team India skipper. Ab de Villiers said, “All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy.”
The former South African international spoke about the “Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision.”
