Talking about the playoffs, the Qualifier 1 will be played between Gujarat and Rajasthan on May 24 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The winner of that game shall advance to the final, while the loser will get a second chance to qualify for the final. On the next day, Bangalore and Lucknow will play the Eliminator at the same venue. The winner of the game will play the loser of the Qualifier 1.
On the other hand, the losing team would see the end of their journey and thus, would get knocked out of the tournament. However, both games are under threat of getting washed out due to persistent rains in Kolkata. The city has unfortunately been experiencing heavy rains and thunderstorms in the last few days. This has led to glass of the press box at the Eden Gardens getting shattered as well.
Also, the groundsmen are having a tough time maintaining the ground as it is under the covers. This has hampered the pitch preparations and the outfield as they are currently under prepared with a little more than 24 hours left for the Qualifier 1. However, he fans will be hoping for a full-fledged game.
