The Indian T20 League 2022 Playoffs promises to treat the fans with a lot of entertainment. The top four teams are looking to lay their hands on the trophy. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bangalore, and Lucknow are in the race to register their names as Indian T20 League winners. Out of these teams, only Rajasthan have won the edition before (in 2008). Bangalore has played three finals (2009, 2011, and 2016) but have had no success.

On the other hand, Lucknow and Gujarat are playing for the first time in the cash-rich league. Meanwhile, former India and Chennai player Suresh Raina has said that he wants the three-time finalists to finally win the ever-elusive title. Raina cited that Virat Kohli is part of the team.

“I really want to RCB will win this year IPL Trophy. because main reason is Virat Kohli.” – Suresh Raina said on Star Sports

Talking about the playoffs, the Qualifier 1 will be played between Gujarat and Rajasthan on May 24 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. On the next day, Bangalore and Lucknow will play the Eliminator at the same venue. The winner of the game will play the loser of the Qualifier 1.

On the other hand, the losing team would see the end of their journey and thus, would get knocked out of the tournament. However, both games are under threat of getting washed out due to persistent rains in Kolkata. The city has unfortunately been experiencing heavy rains and thunderstorms in the last few days. This has led to glass of the press box at the Eden Gardens getting shattered as well.

Also, the groundsmen are having a tough time maintaining the ground as it is under the covers. This has hampered the pitch preparations and the outfield as they are currently under prepared with a little more than 24 hours left for the Qualifier 1. However, he fans will be hoping for a full-fledged game.
