Suniel Shetty clears air on reports of KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty receiving expensive gifts

According to reports, Virat Kohli gifted KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty a BMW car worth Rs. 2.7 crores.

Hours after Indian cricketer KL Rahul and actress Athiya Shetty got married, reports of them receiving expensive gifts from Cricket and Bollywood fraternity emerged. According to reports, Virat Kohli gifted the couple a BMW car worth Rs. 2.7 crores, while MS Dhoni gave him a Kawasaki Ninja worth Rs. 80 lakhs.

Athiya’s father, Suniel Shetty, on the other hand, was said to have given them an Rs. 50 crore apartment. Suniel’s Khandala farmhouse served as the venue for the wedding. All of the reports have now been deemed “baseless” by the Bollywood actor.

Suniel’s spokesperson denied all of the rumours when indianexpress.com contacted him. He said, “All the reports published about the gifts are absolutely baseless and not true. We request the press fraternity to confirm details with us before publishing such incorrect information in the public domain.”

Don’t want to get involved in the in-law complications: Suniel Shetty

The wedding festivities for Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul began on Saturday. The family hosted a sangeet ceremony with a cocktail night on Sunday night, which was attended by family members and close friends. Suniel Shetty spoke to the media after the wedding on Monday.

“It was beautiful. It was very small, with just close family lekin sab bohot acche se hua (everything went well). Shaadi hogayi hai, father-in-law ban gaya hu officially.” He added, “I am a father, and don’t want to get involved in the in-law complications. I ace the role of a parent, and I want to do that.”

The actor also revealed that after the Indian T20 League concludes on June 1, they intend to host a wedding reception for Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul.

In the meantime, KL Rahul took a break from India’s white-ball series against New Zealand. He will, however, be a part of the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at home. The four-match series will begin on the 9th of February. The wicketkeeper-batter will hope that lady luck is on his side and he does well for the team in the crucial series.
