As the World Cup starts on October 5, a rematch between defending champions England and last year’s runner-up New Zealand is set for the marquee event. The Indian Cricket Board will organise an inauguration ceremony on October 4 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ahead of the prestigious tournament.
It’s worth noting that India will start their campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. Meanwhile, other teams like Pakistan will play the Netherlands in their first game. While Afghanistan will face Bangladesh on October 7, Sri Lanka will take on South Africa to start their campaign in the prestigious tournament.
