Damn. They should've got Shastri if he was available. Would have been epic to hear him call what could be one of the best Ashes ever

Notably, the two-time World Champion was also part of the commentary team for the World Test Championship final 2023. Before this, the wicketkeeper batter made his commentary debut in the 2021 English summer. As he was selected in the Indian team last year, his commentary career was paused till the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
On the other hand, England has announced their playing XI ahead of the first Test. The Aussies have chosen to keep their cards close to their chests as of now.
England XI for the first Test: Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jonathan Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, and James Anderson.
