Shah Rukh Khan wishes good luck for the success of Legends League Cricket’s second season

The first match of the league is being played to commemorate India’s 75 years since its independence.

The Legends League Cricket is all set to start today with a special match between India Maharajas and World Giants. The match is being played to commemorate India’s 75 years since its Independence. With the league starting today, actor Shahrukh Khan wished Vivek Khushalani, Founder & Chairman of the league good luck for the success of its second season.

Shahrukh took to Twitter and wrote, “Wishing my friend Vivek Khushalani all the very best for season 2 of Legends league cricket starting today on @DisneyPlusHS @llct20.” He also shared the video promo of the league along with the Tweet which features legendary actor Amitabh Bachhan.

The Legends League Cricket is a global T20 league featuring retired international cricketers playing competitive cricket. The first season of the league was held at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground, Muscat in January 2022, featuring three teams – India Maharajas, Asia Lions and the World Giants.

The second season of the league is expected to be even bigger with the tournament being held across six major cities of India from 16th September – 5th October.

The league is organized by Absolute Legends Sports Pvt. Ltd. Former Indian cricketer and former men’s national cricket team coach Ravi Shastri is the Commissioner of the league. The league roped in legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan as the Brand Ambassador of the T20 extravaganza.

The league will be contested amongst four teams in the second season namely Bhilwara Kings, Manipal Tigers, India Capitals, and Gujarat Titans. The second season will also feature a lot more legends of the game enthralling the crowd. Some of the big names that will be seen on the field are – Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Sourav Ganguly, Jonty Rhodes, Jacques Kallis, Muttiah Muralitharan, Brett Lee and many more.

After the 75th Independence Day special match today, the tournament will kick off with the inaugural match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants on Saturday. All the matches of the league can be watched on the Star Sports Network and the live streaming will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
