It’s worth noting that Sreesanth has a history linked to allegations of spot-fixing.

The Legends League Cricket 2023 Eliminator between the India Capitals and the Gujarat Giants took an unexpected turn as former Indian teammates Gautam Gambhir and S. Sreesanth engaged in a heated on-field altercation, leaving cricket enthusiasts bewildered. The incident unfolded during the India Capitals’ nail-biting 12-run victory over the Gujarat Giants, with Gambhir and Sreesanth exchanging heated words on the field.

Following the match, Sreesanth took to social media to address the altercation in a video, expressing his dissatisfaction with Gambhir’s use of “unacceptable words” on the cricket field. In the video, the former Indian bowler also criticised Gambhir’s commentary approach, particularly highlighting his treatment of Virat Kohli.

However, the controversy escalated when Sreesanth, in a live session on his Instagram handle, made serious allegations against Gambhir. The Gujarat Giants bowler revealed the derogatory term Gambhir used during their on-field spat, stating, “He kept on calling me on live television, on the centre of the wicket, ‘FIXER, You are a Fixer, F*** off you Fixer.” Despite the heated exchange, Sreesanth asserted that he maintained his composure and did not use any abusive language.

Here is the clip from Sreesanth’s live:

“Smile when the world is…” says Gautam Gambhir

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir, who also serves as the Member of Parliament from the East Delhi constituency, has not responded to the allegations. However, he made a cryptic post on social media. The legendary batter posted a picture of himself with the caption, “”Smile when the world is all about attention!”

It’s worth noting that Sreesanth has a history linked to allegations of spot-fixing. In May 2013, he, along with Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila, was implicated in a spot-fixing scandal during the IPL 2013. Subsequently, in September of the same year, the Indian Cricket Board’s disciplinary committee imposed a lifetime ban on Sreesanth and Chavan. However, Sreesanth was acquitted in the spot-fixing case in July 2015, marking a contentious chapter in his cricketing career.
