Rajasthan players to wear special jerseys against Mumbai to pay their tributes to Shane Warne

Rajasthan are playing formidable cricket in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. Sanju Samson and Co. have won 6 matches out of 8 thus far in the tournament. They would be looking to continue their winning momentum.  Rajasthan’s next game will be a memorable one for the fans and the entire cricketing fraternity. In their next match against Mumbai on Saturday, the franchise will be celebrating the life of Shane Warne. The former Australian legendary spinner passed at 52 on 4th March 2022.

Shane Warne led Rajasthan to a title win in the inaugural edition of the Indian T20 League. Besides, he has also coached the franchise in his Indian T20 League career. Interestingly, Rajasthan are still looking for a second title win.  In a bid to honor the legendary spinner, the Rajasthan players will be wearing the initials SW23 on their shirt collars. For the unversed, Shane Warne donned jersey number 23 during his cricketing career. A special area at the stadium will be turned into a Warne tribute gallery.

Rajasthan will be playing the match against Mumbai on Saturday at DY Patil Sports Academy in Pune. This is the same ground where Rajasthan beat Chennai to lift the title in the inaugural season. Rajasthan have been nothing short of sensational in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League. Jos Buttler has done the bulk of the scoring for the team. In 8 games, Buttler has already hit 3 centuries and is currently the highest run-scorer in the tournament.

He has 499 runs in 8 matches at an average of 71.29. With the ball, Yuzvendra Chahal has led the way. He has managed to pick 18 wickets in 8 games- the most by any player this season. Rajasthan registered a 29-run win over Bangalore in their last game. Batting first, Rajasthan scored 144 runs in the first innings. In reply, they bundled out for Bangalore for just 115 runs in the second innings. Kuldeep Sen starred with the ball, picking 4 for 20 in 3.3 overs.
