January is kicking off with the upcoming Prince of Persia title by Ubisoft, which is set to release this month. Ahead of that, the company has announced the official PC requirements for those who plan to try out the game.
The game is quite vastly different from what gamers know Ubisoft for. Going back to its roots, the company, this will be the first instalment in the Prince of Persia series and to everyone’s surprise, it is a side-scroller game.
Side-scroller games are quite popular nowadays. It also gives the company a chance to build up its reputation once again after multiple “lost in the crowd” releases. Another great twist is that despite the name, you don’t play as the Prince of Persia.
Instead, players will play as one of his bodyguards named Sargon who is separated while looking for the prince who is actually kidnapped. However, just like the original games, players will find new abilities throughout the game.
A 19-minute preview of gameplay by Game Informer shows the game looking quite impressive, both visually and mechanically. The game also contains boss fights and a few mechanics from old games.
As for the specifications of the game –
Medium setting at 1080p – Intel Core i5-4460 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT paired with at least 8GB RAM.
High settings at 1440p – Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT paired with 8GB or more RAM.
Ultra settings at 4K – Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT along with minimum 8GB RAM.
The graphics requirement for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown are not the highest, despite looking very good. This gives gamers with old systems a chance to enjoy another instalment in the beloved franchise.
