4) Bowlers (Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj and Mukesh Kumar)
Shardul Thakur has a history of putting on incredible all-around performances, as evidenced by his key role in India’s series triumph in the 2020–21 Border–Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the fourth Test held at the Gabba in Australia. The Indian squad would be counting on Thakur to repeat an identical performance in the forthcoming series given his prior successes.
In Shami’s absence as his senior colleague rests for the series, Siraj is going to be given more responsibilities. Siraj’s recent efforts have been admirable, but he can yet improve in several areas to better serve the interests of the squad.
Bengali fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, who is skilled, has been called up to join the Indian Test squad for the West Indies tour. He is a great asset because of his outstanding accomplishments in domestic cricket, particularly with the red ball. Mukesh has established himself as a potential future with a stellar total of 149 wickets in only 39 first-class games and the capacity to handle pressure.
