‘Pak ka comeback hua shuru’ – Fans react as Pakistan seal 9-wicket win over Bangladesh in ODI World Cup 2023

Pakistan are finally back to winning ways after an impressive victory over Bangladesh in ODI World Cup 2023.

Pakistan vs Bangladesh

Bangladesh went head-to-head against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup 2023. On a dry surface, Pakistan lost an important toss and had to field first. But in his first two overs with the new ball, Shaheen Shah Afridi removed both Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto. Despite being met with three boundaries, Haris Rauf was able to dismiss Mushfiqur Rahim during his first over.

After yet another poor opening manoeuvre, Bangladesh was down to 23/3. Mahmudullah and Litton Das established a fifty partnership which had helped to sail the innings. They appeared at ease at the crease but the former was sent back to the pavilion due to a gentle dismissal.

After that, the score rate drastically decreased. Mahmudullah scored fifty runs, but he was unable to continue when Shaheen returned to enchant him. When Shakib-al-Hasan arrived at the crease, he started slowly. Rauf dismissed him after he hit a trio of fours against Iftikhar.

The lower tier rarely put up much of a fight when the skipper was overthrown. After reversing the ball, Muhammad Wasim Jr. quickly and thoroughly bowled the ball, overwhelming the Bangladeshi opposition. Pakistan was assigned the goal of 205 and would be expecting to chase it down without any issues.

Pakistan chase down mediocre Bangladesh total with ease

The openers assured that the pursuit would be an easy one in return. With visually stunning strokes, Abdullah Shafique recorded his fourth 50+ total of the competition.

In his return match, Fakhar Zaman demonstrated his potency as the top batsman. destroyed three fours and seven sixes to dash any aspirations for the Bangladeshi team. Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed all three of Pakistan’s wickets. But that was an attempt to raise the stakes. a convincing victory with 17.3 overs remaining.

This loss has surely sealed the fates of the Bangladesh team in the ODI World Cup 2023. Pakistan have found their confidence back and would be hoping to build on that in their remaining two league games in the competition.
