Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik took to Twitter to conduct an “ask me anything” session with the hashtag “#Askdk”. The veteran cricketer received many questions which he tried to answer. However, one question left him stunned, but he took it to the chin and responded to the fan.

The fan shared a screenshot of Dinesh Karthik’s ODI World Cup 2019 Semin Final score against New Zealand. India did not have the best performance in the match, failing to reach the Black Caps’ target of 240. The wicketkeeper-batter also underperformed in the match, scoring only six runs off 25 balls faced.

“One word about Ur goated inning in SF,” the fan wrote. “Delete this right now (facepalm emoji),” Karthik responded.

In the meantime, the veteran player revealed that he will begin his commentator stint in a new avatar. Karthik stated that he will don the weatherman’s hat for his first Border-Gavaskar Trophy assignment. Previously, Karthik provided commentary during England’s tour of India in 2021, and his timely weather updates went viral.

“The Weatherman DK is back on popular demand for India vs Australia. First assignment today at 5.30 pm on Instagram,” Dinesh Karthik wrote on Twitter.

The first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to begin on February 9 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. The two titans of cricket are set to square off in four Tests. Following the conclusion of the Test series, they will play a three-match ODI series.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is currently held by India, who have won the last three series against Australia in 2017, 2018-19, and 2020-21. Australia, on the other hand, is aiming to win a Test series in India for the first time since 2004.

The Test Championship finalists will also be influenced by the series. While Australia is almost certain to make the final, India must win the series in order to play in the semifinals for the second time.
