On Valentine’s Day, Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw posted a photograph with actor Nidhhi Ravi Tapadiaa on his Instagram story, wishing her “Happy Valentine’s Day my wifey.” However, he deleted the post soon after, leading to speculation among fans. This is not the first time Shaw has been seen with Tapadiaa; they were photographed together at a New Year’s party earlier this year.
Shaw, who recently returned to the Indian team after a year and a half, failed to make it to the playing XI for the T20I series against New Zealand. He was selected on the back of a stunning 379-run inning for Mumbai against Assam in the Ranji Trophy. This knock saw him record the second-highest individual score in the history of the tournament, behind B B Nimbalkar’s unbeaten 443.
Shaw has played five Tests for India, scoring 339 runs at an average of 42.37, including one hundred and two fifties. He has also featured in six ODIs, scoring 189 runs at an average of 31.50 and a strike rate of 113.85. However, he has played just one T20I, in which he did not score.
Overall, Shaw is seen as a promising young talent in Indian cricket. However, he has also been criticized for his inconsistent performances and off-field behaviour. This latest Instagram post has only added to the speculation and scrutiny around his personal life. As he looks to establish himself in the Indian team, he will need to balance his professional and personal commitments carefully.
