As per a recent development that has come across on the claims filed by influencer Sapna Gill against cricketer Prithvi Shaw are “false and unfounded.” The Mumbai police have testified the same in court. Additionally, the police also went on to disclose to the magistrate overseeing the case that Gill and her friend Shobhit Thakur were captured on the pub’s CCTV camera dancing and intoxicated. The cops claimed that Shaw stopped Thakur when he attempted to videotape the cricketer on his phone.
Sapna Gill was detained in February on the count of a connection with an alleged assault on Shaw in a pub in Andheri following a dispute over clicking pictures. The social media influencer then attempted to file an FIR against Shaw and his companion Ashish Yadav for molestation and insulting modesty after they were granted bail.
On Monday, the magistrate was presented with a report on the case by the investigating officer. After thoroughly going through the CCTV film, the police testified to the court that it didn’t seem like Shaw and the other people had assaulted Gill in any way. Additionally, the police also told the court that they had statements on file from pub authorities who had seen no unlawful touching of Gill.

The police further asserted that they had reviewed CCTV images taken from the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, showing Gill pursuing the cricketer’s vehicle while holding a baseball bat. According to the police, the social media star can be seen breaking Shaw’s car’s windscreen in the CCTV footage. Officials from the CISF have provided statements to the police, and they have also said in the report that no such occurrence occurred. CISF officers claimed that when they arrived at the scene, they found the car’s windscreen shattered and a lady clutching a baseball bat who had thrown the weapon to the side as they approached the scene.
In the meantime, Sapna Gill’s lawyer requested permission from the judge to exhibit both the CCTV footage from outside the pub and the viral video of the event. The case was postponed to June 28 after the judge ordered the Mumbai police to provide the CCTV footage of the entire incident.
