The senior players who are rested for the upcoming series against South Africa will leave for England on June 16. They will leave without head coach Rahul Dravid who is currently with the second-string team. On the other hand, players such as Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant will fly to the United Kingdom on a special flight on June 19. On this day, the India vs South Africa series will end.

The trio was named in the squad for the fifth Test match against the Three Lions and the limited-overs squad. Also, Dravid will join these players on the special flight. The team will begin their all-format series with the postponed Test match. This game was part of the five-match series last year which is led by the World Number Two Test side.

This game was rescheduled after some of the Indian team support staff members tested positive for COVID19. The Indian team is currently leading the series by 2-1 and has the opportunity to win the series as well. However, it won’t be easy as the hosts have started their season on a winning note under the leadership of Ben Stokes, who was appointed captain last month.

Before the Test match, the team will play a four-day warm-up game against Leicestershire from June 24. The team would be hoping for a full-fledged game and pray that it doesn’t get marred by rain, which generally happens at this time of the year in England. The Test match will be played in Birmingham from July 2. Notably, a day ahead of the game, the team will play a T20 game against Derbyshire.

However, the players participating in the Test match won’t be playing the game against Derbyshire. Two days later, the Men In Blue will play another T20 game against Northamptonshire. The limited-overs series will start on July 7 with a three-match T20I series. The matches will be played on July 7, 9, and 10. The tour will conclude with as many ODI games to be played on 12, 14, and 17 in the same month
