Malaysian cricket is focusing on playing more number of international games. Thus, they would be hoping to jump higher in the Men’s T20I rankings. The team currently sits at 31st having won one and lost one in the ongoing T20I Series against Singapore.
In the next series, they are going to play three other teams in the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I with Thailand, Bhutan and Maldives starting on July 3rd. This is a 13-match series where each team will play the other team twice.

Coming on to the teams taking part in this series, Malaysia are currently the highest-ranked of them all with a Men’s T20 Team ranking of 31st. Thailand currently lay at 65th meanwhile the Maldives are 67th. The Bhutan team is yet to be ranked.
Malaysia won their last match against Singapore by a massive 23 runs. Thailand last played a cricket match on 4th March 2020 against Nepal in the ACC Eastern Region T20 where they lost the game by nine wickets. Thailand were all out for just 66 runs in that game. The Maldives are also out of match practice as they played their last game on 25th February 2020 against Oman. Batting first, the Maldives team made a respectable 129/7 but the Oman team outclassed the Maldives side winning the game in just 14.2 without losing any wickets.
Bhutan haven’t played any international cricket in recent times and the Malaysia Quadrangular T20I Series would be their first proper international series. All the games of this series would be held at the UKM-YSD Cricket Oval in Bangi, Malaysia. The average first innings score at this ground is 81 with the highest score of 134/1 by the UAE Women team.
