‘Main kudrat ka nizaam kahungi’- Pakistan anchor trolls Ramiz Raja on air with a thinly-veiled dig

Ramiz Raja and Pakistan media continue to find each other and wits ends

Pakistan Cricket Board President Ramiz Raja has been giving frequent interviews ever since the Asia Cup 2022 got over. Most of his recent interviews revolve around the Indian cricket team and Indian players.

Just a few days ago he asked for respect from the media for defeating a ‘billion-dollar team’ (India) on a regular basis. Once again, the former Pakistan cricketer has criticised the media but this time, an anchor shuts Raza in a hilarious fashion. Speaking on Pakistan’s Samaa TV show, Raza compared India’s reaction to Virat Kohli’s century and their Asia Cup 2022 loss to Pakistan’s loss.

He said, “Previously we used to falter at the very first hurdle. Yes, we reached the final and yes we did not play well. But it’s okay to have a bad day. But there were others teams as well in the Asia Cup. I mean then India should then have been severely criticised for not reaching the final. But that is not what their fans and media do.”

“I’ll tell you…when Virat Kohli scored a century against Afghanistan, they forgot their entire Asia Cup. Will we ever do that? What we say is that Babar Azam scored a ton, but his strike rate was 135 while David Warner’s was 147.3. So this is useless,” he said.

“That is because Kohli hadn’t scored his 71st (international) century for three years. Or else it wouldn’t have been that important,” answers the female anchor.

Here’s the video:

Raza then doubles down on his criticism of the media saying, “What are you talking about? He dropped four catches in that match that too against a team like Afghanistan. And my point is that, if a Pakistani batter scores a century why isn’t it run in that fashion in the media?”

This is when the female anchor jumped at the opportunity and gave a hilarious response to the aggrieved Pakistan President. She said, “Unn chaar catches chhootne ko toh main kudrat ka nizam kahungi (I would call those four dropped catches as laws of nature).”

Origin of ‘Kudrat ka nizam’

The phrase ‘Kudrat ka nizam’ has been doing the rounds of the internet ever since Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq used it to bizarrely justify Pakistan’s loss to England in the seven-match T20I series.

He had said, “Day and night, summer and winter, rains… they are all-natural. Ye kudrat ka nizam hai. Just like that, sport is also the same. Win and loss will be there. We need to accept it, and we do. The effort and intent to win are there. Hopefully, we will do well (in upcoming matches).”
