‘Kya unique prize hain’- Fans react as Sherfane Rutherford gets 1/2 acre land in USA for winning Player Of The Series award in GT20 Canada

West Indies all-rounder, Sherfane Rutherford has won the Man of the Series award in the recently concluded Global T20 Canada cricket championship. The TD Cricket Arena was filled to the rafters as the Montreal Tigers (MT) were crowned Global T20 Canada season three winners after a thrilling last-ball triumph over Surrey Jaguars (SJ).

The explosive all-rounder is known for his stints with Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has recently been honoured for his outstanding performance in the 2023 Global T20 Canada cricket tournament. This prestigious tournament, now in its third edition, took place from July 20th to August 6th, 2023.

Sherfane Rutherford and Andre Russell shine for MT 

Sherfane Rutherford’s outstanding performance throughout the competition earned him the title of Player of the Tournament. In appreciation of his extraordinary feat, he was given half an acre of land in the United States. The Windies batter was instrumental in helping his side, the MT, to win the GT20 Canada 2023 competition, which was hosted at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ontario. His unbeaten 38 runs from 29 balls, along with Andre Russell’s outstanding 20 runs from only 6 balls, helped the Tigers win their first GT20 title.

Rutherford’s outstanding performance in the final won him the renowned honours of Player of the Match and Moment of the Match, cementing his position as a key character in the tournament. Rutherford has been awarded half an acre of land in the United States as a unique and remarkable reward for his outstanding performance in the 2023 Global T20.

Andre Russell bowled a terrific last over, conceding only 7 runs and picking the wicket of Matthew Forde in that over. The SJ could only finish on a competitive total of 130/5. Spencer Johnson bowled the last over, giving up 12 runs to Russell and Rutherford. With two runs needed off the final delivery, pacer Ammar Khalid was unable to control Andre Russell, who hit his second maximum of the over to secure the trophy for the MT.
