In the SA20 2024 final versus the Durban Super Giants, Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and elected to bat first. Two partnerships constituted the crux of their innings. In the first half, Jordan Hermann and Tom Abell nearly shared a century-run stand. In the second half, Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs scored an additional 98 runs.
The four Sunrisers batters were taking some time in identifying their target bowlers at first. Interestingly, Malan, who scored six runs off of four (150 SR), had the lowest strike rate of any batter in the game today. Everyone else would want to believe that they fulfilled their obligations. The reigning champs amassed 204 runs while losing just three wickets in their 20 overs.
Their bowlers came out and absolutely destroyed the Durban Super Giants with the ball. As he did in the previous several games, Marco Jansen finished with five points. He even finished the season as the highest wicket-taker, surpassing Ottniel Baartman, his partner. Getting the ball reversing and nipping out the lethal Heinrich Klaasen on a golden duck showed that Baartman wasn’t too awful himself.
Daniel Worrall, who has been so brilliant with the brand-new ball, contributed in scalping an early wicket. The Durban Super Giants were never able to mount a defence thanks to these three seamers. Wiaan Mulder showed a little flare, scoring 38 off 22 balls, but that was it. In the end, the Durban Super Giants were bundled out for a mere 115 runs. Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the tournament after a one-sided 89-run win in the final.

The star of the match, Marco Jansen spoke to the broadcasters after an impressive victory in the final of the SA20 2024. He spoke about the aims of the team before the final.
The South African all-rounder said, “Unbelievable from the guys, the way we batted and the way we bowled, very proud of the guys. The batters were superb today. We thought 180-185 was above par. It was all about executing our plans and obviously very stoked that we could execute all our plans.”
