Ahead of the IPL 2024, title holders Chennai Super Kings have reportedly appointed Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif as their Brand Ambassador. Notably, during the IPL 2010, she was spotted cheering for three-time finalists, Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the same year, CSK won their maiden title, beating their arch-rivals, Mumbai Indians in the final. In that season, RCB lost to MI in the semis.
Since then, the Yellow Brigade has managed to win the IPL titles five times, defending their title in 2011. After this, they had to wait for seven years for their third title, followed by another two in 2021 and 2023. At this point, the schedule of the 17th season is yet to be announced with the General Election to be held in India. However, the tournament is set to be played in India, just like it happened during the 2019 season.
Meanwhile, Kaif, as reported by ABP News (Anand Bazaar Patrika), has been named as the brand ambassador of the team for the upcoming season. Talking about the season, it might be played between mid-March and mid-May. With the T20 World Cup 2024 starting on June 1, the Indian Cricket Board would like to give some gaps to the players. For the first time after 2007, the team would like to win the tournament.

Talking about the team, the team has added New Zealand middle-order batter Daryl Mitchell, who made his debut in 2022. Shardul Thakur, who last played for the team in 2021, has returned to the team. Sameer Rizwi, who was the find of the first season of the UP Premier League, has also made it into the team.
