The Indian Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah has indicated his desire to resume bilateral series between Team India and Pakistan, according to Pakistan Cricket Board head Muhammad Zaka Ashraf. From 2013, Pakistan and India have not taken part in bilateral series contests. The Indian government forbade the playing of any matches between two teams because of political unrest between the neighbours.. The only exceptions are the Asia Cup and important international tournaments.
Because the Indian government had not given the Indian Cricket Board permission, the board declined to deploy the national team to Pakistan during the Asia Cup in 2023. As a result, Sri Lanka was chosen to host the competition.
Zaka Ashraf had visited Jay Shah for talks about restarting bilateral games involving India and Pakistan, according to sources in Pakistani media. According to the PCB CEO, the Indian Cricket Board secretary desired a bilateral series between two nations. However, he also need approval from the Indian government. Where and when the meeting between the two was held is unclear, though.
When he was in head of the PCB, Zaka Ashraf was able to obtain approval for the bilateral series to take place during the 2012–13 season from both the government and the BCCI. Between the two fierce rivals, it was their first bilateral series since 2007. Furthermore, the head of PCB is optimistic that the two countries’ bilateral relations would soon be restored.
“We are hopeful of some good news from India” : Zaka Ashraf
Zaka Ashraf spoke about his meeting with Jay Shah regarding the Bilateral series. He said, “I met Jay Shah and he’s ready to resume Pakistan vs India matches on regular basis, but he needs his government’s approval. We are hopeful of some good news from India after the elections there this year”
India’s most recent bilateral series trip to Pakistan took place in 2006. For the 2011 World Cup, the 2014 T20 World Cup, and the 2023 World Cup, Pakistan went to India. In October and November of last year, PCB sent Men in Green for the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. It was surely against the objections of former Pakistani cricket players.

They can start the Asian Test Championship and the annual series they once conducted in Canada. Based on the worldcup format we can play that series. The points in the ATC can be used for the WTC plus it would free some space in the intl calendar. @RK_sports @KrisSrikkanth
