‘Jaldi theek ho jaya karo yaar’ – Fans react to KL Rahul working hard in training to spark comeback to Indian team

KL Rahul has been posting pictures of his training and is scheduled to return sooner rather than later

Indian cricket fans have heard some encouraging news concerning the possible return of two of their important players, Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul, who are now out of action due to injury, as the eagerly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023 approaches.

The Indian cricket team will benefit greatly from Rahul’s return. After suffering a right thigh injury in the latter stages of the IPL in May, Rahul had to undergo surgery. He is currently exercising physically and has started batting in the NCA nets. Rahul is reportedly being considered as the World Cup team’s main wicketkeeper because of his on-time recovery. Rahul will reportedly begin his skill-building training around mid-July and is expected to be returning to the Indian set-up sooner rather than later.

KL Rahul has been recovering well according to some of the sources from the NCA and might be included in the squad for the Asia Cup, which is the first big test for the Indian team ahead of an action-filled World Cup.

KL Rahul to replace Rishabh Pant as main wicket-keeper batter

Since December 2022, Rishabh Pant, India’s main wicketkeeper in all three formats of the game, has remained absent. When his car collided with a barrier while he was driving back to his Roorkee house, the wicketkeeper-batter sustained serious injuries to his hand, knees, and back.

Notably, Pant was spotted using crutches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium when he was there to watch and cheer on the Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2023 home games. Since Pant had previously checked in with the NCA last month, he also met along with and greeted the Delhi players while they were playing at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Rahul and Pant are both battling against the clock to be ready for India’s World Cup campaign in 2023, which will be contested in India in October-November. Pant is the less likely of the two to make it into the Indian team for the World Cup. Therefore, in his absence, the team management would be hoping for KL Rahul to don the wicket-keeping gloves.
