Seicham Madurai Panthers’ Murugan Ashwin pulled off a spectacular catch against Dindigul Dragons in the ongoing TNPL 2023. The Panthers were looking for their first win of the season after losing their first game against Nellai Royal Kings. On the other hand, the Dragons were looking to continue their winning ways after winning against Ba11sy Trichy. Meanwhile, in the game, Madurai was defending only 123 runs.
They were bowled out with six batters failing to reach the double-digit mark. During Dindigul’s chase, S Arun took on left-arm medium pacer, Gurjanpreet Singh in the fourth over. It looked like the ball will fall safely as the third man fielder didn’t seem to reach the ball. However, M Ashwin, who was stationed inside the circle at point, turned and ran towards the ropes to pull off a spectacular catch.

Talking about the game, Dragons, who lost three wickets for 32 runs, managed to pull off an emphatic win to remain unbeaten and top the points table. The likes of Baba Indrajith (78*) and Adithya Ganesh (22*) put together unbeaten 92 runs to take the team home. They chased down the target in just 14.1 overs, improving their Net Run Rate. With this, they have gone past the likes of Nellai Royal Kings and Chepauk Super Gillies to top the table.
