Fans worried as team India bowlers fail to pick wickets on Day 4 first session

India and Bangladesh are facing off in the first Test of the two-match series that kicked off on December 14, Wednesday and on Day 4, Saturday, the Indian team failed to make an impact with the ball as Bangladesh finished the first session without losing a wicket, chasing a target of 513.

To add more, the Bangla Tigers were reeling at 119/0 at lunch on Day 4, with Najmul Hossain Shanto unbeaten at 64 and Zakir Hasan at 55. While Mohammed Siraj bowed 10 overs to his name and remained wicketless after conceding 32 runs, the likes of Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav failed to pick the opening wicket as the pitch did nothing for the bowlers.

India dominate in first and second innings with bat

The Indian team managed to put on 404 runs on the board at the end of the first innings on the back of a well-made 90 from Cheteshwar Pujara. Eventually, the likes of Kuldeep and Siraj stood up for the team with the ball and eventually reduced Bangladesh to 150. With a lead of 254, the KL Rahul-led team got off to a great start in their second innings.

While the skipper perished for 23 runs, Shubman Gill, on the other hand, scored his maiden Test century and made his way back to the dressing room after contributing 110 runs to India’s scoreboard. Much to the delight of the Indian fans, the veteran Pujara ended his century drought and India declared the innings after the talented batter reached the three-figure landmark, setting a mammoth target.

Rahul, the Indian skipper, ended up facing the heat on Twitter for his lack of decisions on Saturday, eventually letting fans make a claim that it was only because of his poor captaincy, that India failed to pick up the opening wicket in the first session. While it remained to be seen if the Indian brigade would make a comeback in the remaining sessions, fans claimed that it was a cakewalk for India and believed that India might win the game.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Indian bowlers failing to take wickets in the first session of Day 4:
