The Indian contingent won two silver medals one after another which gave the Asian Games in Hangzhou a promising start. The rowing team of Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh took home a silver medal, which they shared with the Indian women’s rifle shooters in the 10m air rifle team competition.
With 26-year-old Arjun in the bow position along with 27-year-old Arvind leading the stroke, the Indian rowers placed second in the lightweight men’s double sculls race, falling short of the Chinese team of Junjie Fan as well as Man Sun.
Arvind had been dealing with a terrible back problem for the past two months that had seriously impeded their preparation, thus the silver medal meant a lot to the team and the fans.
