Several members of the Indian cricket team, who are in Madhya Pradesh for the third and final ODI against New Zealand, paid a visit to the Mahakaleswar temple in Ujjain on Monday morning and offered prayers there. Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Washington Sundar, along with the staff of the Indian cricket team, arrived at Mahakal Temple early on Monday morning.

According to India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav, they prayed to Mahakal for the quick recovery of Rishabh Pant, a teammate. The wicketkeeper-batter was severely injured in a car accident on December 30 but is now recovering well.

“We prayed for the speedy recovery of Rishabh Pant. His comeback is very important to us. We have already won the series against New Zealand, looking forward to the final match against them,” Suryakumar Yadav told ANI.

In the early morning hours at the temple, Lord Shiva’s “Bhasma Aarti” was performed, and the players and the staff took part. The players posed with the Indian cricket team’s staff while donning traditional clothes, including a dhoti and an angavastram. The third and final ODI match of the series between Team India and New Zealand will take place on Tuesday at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

India defeated New Zealand by an eight-wicket margin in the second One Day International at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Saturday, clinching their seventh straight ODI series.

Rajat and Nishu Kumar helped Pant get to the hospital, and Pant recently shared a photo of them, saying that he will be “forever grateful” to them.

“I may not have been able to thank everyone individually, but I must acknowledge these two heroes who helped me during my accident and ensured I got to the hospital safely. Rajat Kumar & Nishu Kumar, Thank you. I’ll be forever grateful and indebted,” wrote Pant on Twitter.
