In the age of dominating and fast-paced cricket, every youngster who is nowadays desiring for playing the game of cricket wants to play their cricket in a similar way. Mohammad Haris is another budding cricketer who is slowly and gradually making a name for himself in the cricketing circuit in recent times for Pakistan.
Pakistan’s young wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris expressed his ambition to play in all three formats of the game, citing the examples of players like Adam Gilchrist of Australia and India’s Rishabh Pant. In an interview with Geo News, Haris stated that he has been working on being more patient while on the crease as a batter.
As a batter, Harris explained that he needs to be more patient, and said that I’m working on that in the current training camp. The young Pakistan-based batter also said that he can hit fours and sixes, but I also need to work on my singles and doubles. I’m trying to get better at my ground shot. Haris stated that he does not intend to exclusively specialize in T20 but rather play in all formats.
“I want to play all formats for Pakistan. Just because I play at a fast rate doesn’t mean that I’m only suited to T20 cricket. Players like Rishabh Pant play at the same pace in all formats of the game. Even Adam Gilchrist in the past used to do the same,” he said.
Rizwan also lauded the wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan while talking about the competition for the role of a wicketkeeper in the Pakistan team.
“Rizwan is the first choice as wicketkeeper for the Pakistan team. There is always stiff competition for the role of a wicketkeeper in a team, which is precisely the reason why I’m trying to become a better fielder so that I can play in the team purely as a batter,” he said.
In his young career, Haris has played just five ODIs along with nine T20Is in his short career but has eventually shown glimpses of a remarkable future ahead.
