Sneh Rana injured herself during the second ODI versus Australia in Mumbai on Saturday. The second ODI at the famed Wankhede Stadium saw India take on Australia. The visiting side had won the first game by six-wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

It was Alyssa Healy who won the toss and chose to bat first on a good looking Mumbai wicket. Megan Schutt was replaced by Kim Garth as the only replacement for the visitors. India though had made two changes to their side form the first ODI.

Shafali Varma was rested and Smriti Mandhana came into the team. The left-handed batter hadn’t featured in first game played few days ago. The second change was Saika Ishaque had given way to young spin bowler Shreyanka Patil.

Harleen Deol replaces Sneh Rana as Concussion substitute –

It was a huge blow for the Indian Cricket team led by Harmanpreet Kaur. Beth Mooney was looking to pierce the point boundary. Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana went in running to save the ball and collided with each other.

It was an uneasy few minutes as both players lay down on the ground. Sneh Rana was still on the ground in visible pain while Pooja Vastrakar got back on her feet. The players signaled for the medical staff to make their way to the ground.

The young spinner was in pain and her eyes were filled with tears as she was walking out of the ground. As per the latest reports, the player isn’t fit and has complained of headache prompting Harleen Deol to come in as the replacement player.

Indian spinner Deepti Sharma picked 5/38 from her ten overs as Australia scored 258 runs. Phoebe Litchfield continued her good form as she scored yet another half-century in the series. Veteran Elyse Perry too scored her 2nd successive fifty to help the team to a decent total on the board.

Chasing 259 to win, India lost Yastika Bhatia early for 14 with the score reading 37 in the 7th over. Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh then kept the score ticking before Mandhana was out for 34.

Jemimah Rodrigues scored 44 runs from 55 balls before falling to Georgia Wareham. The spinner also got the big wicket of the Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur for 5. At the time of writing India needed 76 runs off 71 balls with Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma batting.
