The World Cup events, however, have a knack of giving us unexpected results but still, the fans continue to gauze their intellect at the uncertainty and come up with a name.
Along the same line, a company has used supercomputers to predict England’s chances at the upcoming FIFA World Cup and the results are disheartening for the English fans.
The supercomputer has predicted England’s men’s football team to only reach the quarterfinals in Qatar before being knocked out of the 2022 World Cup. According to the results, the Three Lions are predicted to top their group featuring USMNT, Iran and Wales. This will then put them against Senegal in the second round of the event.
The African side Senegal are predicted to come second in their respective group which features the teams the Netherlands, Ecuador and hosts Qatar. Senegal will play the table toppers of Group B i.e., England and will face defeat in the second round according to the Supercomputer.
Having won, the second round against Senegal, Gareth Southgate’s men will advance into the Quarterfinals and face World Cup holders France. As per the prediction, the quarterfinals will be the end of England as they would lose to Didier Deschamp’s team.
The Supercomputer further predicted France to go all the way to the final and face the Neymar-led Brazil team. According to the results, France will fail to retain the Cup as a resurgent Brazil would prove too tough to handle for the French side.
Lionel Messi who could be playing his last World Cup has been predicted to face heartbreak at Qatar as Argentina will lose to France and finish third.
