‘Ek CCTV ke price pe Kitna kg Aata milega?’ – Fans react as CCTV cameras got stolen during PSL game at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore

Amid the tussle between the interim Punjab government and Pakistan Cricket Board over security expenses in the Lahore leg of Pakistan Super League season 8 security camera equipment got stolen from the Gaddafi Stadium. According to local news reports, eight CCTV cameras installed for monitoring security in the stadium during PSL games were stolen.

The Pakistan Super League 8 matches in Lahore will begin on February 26, however, before that eight security cameras and fibre optic cables put on the sides of Gaddafi Stadium were stolen. The batteries of the generators used to power the stadium’s illuminations during games were also taken. Notably, the PCB rejected the Punjab government’s demand for Rs 45 crore in payment for security and other costs.
According to PCB sources, the Lahore and Rawalpindi matches will be shifted to Karachi if the Punjab government keeps asking the board for paying the said amount.

PCB working on Plan B for the Punjab leg of PSL season 8

A huge bill from the provincial government pushed PCB to consider moving the Punjab leg of PSL 8 to Karachi. Meanwhile, on Friday in a unanimous decision by the PCB and PSL franchisees, it was decided that payment of additional 450 million rupees to the Punjab government will be avoided.

The matches will officially be moved to Karachi if the bill is not waived. The updated timetable has also been negotiated with the franchisees in the interim. Although this could also lead to moving White-ball matches between Pakistan and New Zealand in April and May out of Punjab. Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, declared that the provincial cabinet is opposed to the bill’s exemption. However, fans react to the security arrangements of PSL.
