The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) served a legal notice to Kamran Akmal, the former Pakistani wicketkeeper for his comments on the chief Ramiz Raja and it remains to see if the official announcement from the board would be made public.
According to reports, Akmal’s close aid revealed that the aggressive batter has received a notice from PCB for making false and unwanted claims about the board and chief in the media. In addition to it, the notice was served for going over the board on his YouTube channel as well.
To add more to the reports, they further claim that along with Akmal, a few more players, who have their own YouTube channel, might be served a legal notice as they have ‘clearly crossed the line’ in criticising the board and the boss.
Ramiz Raja reportedly upset with criticism
Raja, who is upset with former cricketers continuously plunging the players and the management, reportedly ordered PCB’s legal team to send legal notice to those who come with up unwanted criticism on the team and himself.
In other news, Shoaib Akthar, the former Pakistani pacer, claimed that Shaheen Afridi should have continued with his run-up in the summit clash and should have helped Pakistan to win the game. For the unversed, defending a total of 137, after bowling the first ball of his third over, Afridi walked off the field pertaining to an injury and England, on the other hand, eventually went on to win the game with 5 wickets to spare.
“When your main bowler becomes unfit, then it creates problem for you. Shaheen (Afridi) was never fully fit, but we cannot put the entire blame on him as he bowled well in the past 2-3 matches,” Akhtar was quoted as saying.
‘But this is World Cup final. Even if the leg breaks. Whatever happens, happens. Just keep running and do something. But this was not in our fortune,” said the former pacer further. As things stand, it remains to see if Afridi would make a comeback to competitive cricket at the earliest.
