‘Dekho wo wapis aagya’ – Fans react to Sanju Samson’s selection in Indian team for ODIs against West Indies

Sanju Samson makes a comeback to the Indian team for their tour to the West Indies

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson, the wicketkeeper for Rajasthan Royals, is prepared to embark on a comeback during India’s tour to the West Indies. The RR captain, who missed the T20I matches against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, has been picked for the ODI squad for the Caribbean tour. Samson is prepared to receive ample opportunities in spite of the absence of a few of the team’s veteran players and despite frequently being pulled out of the starting lineup and receiving little continuous playing time.

Samson last participated in a T20I match against Sri Lanka before suffering a hamstring injury. Following that, the RR player participated in the IPL but had a poor bat performance, scoring only 360 runs throughout 13 innings.  Samson and Ishan Kishan will have plenty of opportunities now that Rishabh Pant will not be playing for the side at least until after the ODI World Cup. The RR skipper will probably be considered for the ODI playing XI in addition to T20Is. Samson could take part in the 50-over format as an additional wicketkeeper-batter because KL Rahul is injured and if he performs well it can mean a slot in the team for a long time.

The RR captain has participated in 11 ODIs as well as achieved 330 runs, while he has participated in 17 T20Is and made 301 runs. The team for India’s visit to the West Indies was recently disclosed, and both the ODI and Test lineups now include a few fresh faces.
