Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has had a terrible time since the 20-20 World Cup 2021. The team reached the semis in which they lost to the eventual winners, Australia. In that game, Wasim bowled only three overs which made a difference as Hasan Ali, who wasn’t in form was bashed by Marcus Stoinis. Meanwhile, after the team lost, they started a new journey and dropped the 2017 Champions Trophy winner.

He was replaced by Mohammad Nawaz who did well on some occasions before the 20-20 World Cup 2022. In the first two games of the tournament, Nawaz wasn’t on the wrong side of the result against India and Zimbabwe. On the other hand, Imad was doing TV shows during the tournament. However, the left-hander had a dream tournament with the bat during PSL 8. On the other hand, Nawaz struggled with both bat and ball.

I won’t let selectors drop me from the team: Imad Wasim

Meanwhile, the Glamorgan-born player made his comeback in the T20I series against Afghanistan. In a recent interview with a Pakistani channel, the 2006 U19 World Cup winner said that he won’t let the selectors drop him without any reason. The 34-year-old added that he has confidence in his abilities.

“They [selectors] never told the reason behind keeping me away from the national team for last one and a half year. I won’t let this happen again. My actions will be more important this time around. I am at that stage of my career that I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again.”

“I never suffered any financial loss while I was away from the team. In fact, I earned 10 times more than what I would have earned while playing for Pakistan. I am confident in my abilities. If I was that bowler who is said to be dependent on the conditions then T20 leagues of Australia and South Africa would have not signed me.”
