In the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings were trashed by Multan Sultans in a nail-biting thriller. Mohammad Rizwan’s century powered the SUltans to a high total of 196 runs in the first innings. The Kings then almost got to the target but fell just short as they handed Rizwan’s team a 3-run win.

During the game, Kings coach Wasim Akram was visibly frustrated by his team’s inability to capitalise on the opportunity. He was seen kicking the seat in front of him as his team lost the last-over thriller. A video of the same has gone viral over the internet.

Many fans vented their anger at the former Pakistan great on Twitter. They theorised that the coach would not blame captain Imad Wasim for the loss, whereas he would have publically trashed former team skipper Babar Azam had he still been in charge.

“Now he won’t bash imad? He used to torture babar for the bad performance of their franchise’s main bowler(which babar had no control over) he used to insult him on camera, now his current skipper was there till very last ball he could’ve win it. Won’t he utter anything now?” wrote an angry fan.

As for the match, Rizwan scored 110 runs in 64 balls, including 10 boundaries and four sixes. The opener went unbeaten, propelling his team to a high total of 196/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Shan Masood, who scored 51 runs in 33 balls, was an excellent supporter.

In response, the Kings made every effort to reach the target but fell just short. James Vince was on fire, scoring 75 runs in just 34 balls. Captain Imad Wasim also contributed with a useful 46-run knock in 26 balls. He took the game to the final ball, needing five runs. Multan Sultan’s Abbas Afridi, however, was on point as he bowled a length delivery outside the off-stump. Wasim could only score a single off it and could not take his team through.
