After a two-month-long stint with Punjab Kings in Indian Premier League 2023, star India pacer Arshdeep Singh is set to play for a new team. Arshdeep joined the Kent team for the ongoing County Cricket Championship. He reached the UK on Friday and joined the team and is set to make his debut in the County championship on Sunday.
The pacer has joined the team for five games, according to the club. On Sunday, he will play against Surrey. Kent signed him in March following his outstanding bowling performance in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Arshdeep has played in 26 T20I matches and has 41 wickets at an average of 17.78. He has 25 wickets in seven first-class games.
Speaking about the new journey Arshdeep said that he is excited to be part of this team. “I am excited to be a part of Kent. I will look to take wickets for my new team. Rahul Dravid told me that it s a big club with a great history,” he said. Notably, in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, Arshdeep Singh clinched 17 wickets in 14 matches.
When Will Arshdeep make his comeback to the national team?
It’s worth noting that Arshdeep Singh has been one of the most talked about bowlers in the last few months. He has been an integral part of India’s unsuccessful World Cup campaign but soon after the tournament, he was dropped from the team. He last represented India in the T20I series against New Zealand in February this year.
He has played 27 T20IS in which has cliched 41 wickets at an average of 18.49 and an economy rate of 8.44. His best figures of 4/37 have come in a crucial game against New Zealand in November last year. Meanwhile, the Indian team is currently playing Australia in the finals of the World Test Championship 2021-23 at The Oval in England. Australia is leading by 296 runs in the second innings with two days left in the game.
Here is how fans react to Arshdeep Singh’s new journey:

After WTC final, we'll start phasing out Umesh & bring Krishna (Tall hit the deck hard fast bowler) & look at how well does Arshdeep perform in County.
Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Krishna & Shardul.
Reintroduce Hardik for overseas tests (Shardul as backup). Shardul for Home tests.

He will be so good with the red ball in English conditions. Could easily walk into the test team even considering his competitions are Umesh and Unadkat

virat kohli rohit sharma also should join county clubs or play ranji trophy prove their form and then comeback to Indian team.
It is not a shame at all. look at australia, khawaja was dropped for 1 year to prove his form and then return back

What is the use of playing county cricket? Look at Pujara has been scoring tons of runs in county cricket for last two seasons but failed when it mattered the most

Jaydev Unadkat won't be a regular member of the Indian test squad. Arshdeep is young and his workload should be managed very carefully. He needs this experience more than IPL. If a player snubs IPL for county cricket, then that player is serious to do well for his nation.

All the best champ . You are the future of Indian bowling attack
Arshdeep got a decent swing and if he regularly plays on red ball in county and brushes up his skills he's all set to become an important bowler in Indian Test Team— Dhruv (@being_ingenious) June 9, 2023
