The Indian contingent has made the entire nation proud with their breath-taking performance at the Commonwealth Games 2022 so far. The hardwork of the athletes has been fruitful as they have clinched 47 medals so far at the sporting extravaganza.
India are currently placed on the fifth position in the medals tally, having pocketed 16 Gold medals, 12 Silver, and 9 bronze to their name. They’re just one Gold behind New Zealand, who’re placed fourth with 17 Gold medals in their bag.
There are more additions expected to the tally as Indian athletes are set to feature in various medal matches later in the day and tomorrow as well. The Indian women’s cricket team will take the field today to script history as they face Australia in the final of the women’s T20 competition.
Besides, there’s another final of men’s hockey scheduled today as well. Indian Table Tennis stars Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Sharath Kamal will also be seen contesting for the Gold Medal in the Men’s doubles final later today.
The athletes will sweat it out on the field to give an excellent finish to the successful run for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022. India finished at the third spot in the last edition of the Games in Gold Coast, Australia. India’s best-ever performance came in the 2010 edition of the tournament when they finished on the second spot in the medals tally.
