How do you fight what you can’t see? A similar problem is now being reported in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with players seemingly being killed by invisible players, only to find out an invisible player was in front of them the whole time.
Call of Duty players are no strangers to cheaters, in-fact it is one of the most popular games with excessive cheater complaints, similar to Counter-Strike 2. Over the years, Activision has tried various methods like bans, shadow-bans, and pairing cheaters in the cheater game lobby.
The latest effort is the RICOCHET anti-cheat, which has also failed to suppress cheating issues in Call of Duty. While one has ever so slight a chance of winning against subtle cheaters with wall hacks, what will a player do if they can’t see opponents?
A great clip recorded and shared on Reddit by justthatguyLoo shows how easily he is eliminated by his invisible opponent using a knife. Players speculate that it is either a new cheat or an exploit.
Many others in the comments also revealed that something similar also happened to them on different game modes and were wondering why even cheat in a casual game where nothing is at stake.
While the developers have promised a more advanced form of anti-cheat, it seems there is currently no relief for gamers from cheaters. Regardless of what it is, using these to win games not only frustrates others but also results in a loss of confidence in developers.
The only time the cheat might make some people laugh is when the cheat is called John Cena. However, that does not mean cheating or using any form of exploit inside a game is acceptable.
Since Activision is now working under Microsoft, it remains to be seen what the gaming giant will do to provide gamers the promised relief from cheaters.
