Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner for India, was not selected for the ODI World Cup 2023 side. One of the top Indian leg spinners of recent memory, Chahal, was once more left off the roster. Chahal previously failed to qualify for the UAE-hosted 2021 T20 World Cup and failed to appear in any of the matches in the 2022 tournament despite being chosen.
Chatting with Wisden from England, Chahal remarked that getting sacked had come to be a part of his life and that he was used to it. He said, “I understand that only fifteen players can be a part, because it is a World Cup, where you cannot take 17 or 18. I do feel a little bad, but my motto in life is to move on. I’m used to it now. It’s been three World Cups.”
The spinner for the Rajasthan Royals claimed he left India to participate in County Cricket due to the fact he did not want to stay in and relax at his home. He said, “That’s why I came here [at Kent] to play because I want to play cricket somewhere, somehow. I’m getting a chance here with a red ball, and I seriously want to play red ball for India. So it was a good experience for me.”
Team India in their ODI World Cup 2023 squad has Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, as well as R Ashwin. Due to the uniqueness of his approach, Kuldeep is anticipated to be India’s go-to weapon out of the three.
I’m getting to play at a very good level here : Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal expanded on his County performance, expressing his happiness to play top-tier cricket in England as well as his desire to represent India in Test matches.
The former Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner concluded by saying that, “I spoke to the coaches too, and they’re happy I’m playing somewhere, because you can practice as much in the nets, but match is match. I’m getting to play at a very good level here – first division, County – learning a lot here.”
Fans react as Yuzvendra Chahal releases another statement on ODI World Cup 2023 snub:

a year ago, people were crazy for Ravi Bishnoi but now they are sad for Chahal. People missed Bhuvi in WTC 21 but when he played subsequently, he was criticised for being too slow as a pacer.
