Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez appeared to threaten Argentina soccer superstar Lionel Messi with violence after the team’s World Cup victory for allegedly stomping on a Mexico jersey. Messi can be seen slightly kicking the Mexico jersey as he attempts to remove his cleats in a video of Argentina celebrating their first victory of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Alvarez took notice and advised the 35-year-old to show respect for Mexico. The former insisted that he respects Argentina as a country and threatened to punch Messi over the incident. “Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico!! I’m not talking about the country (Argentina) I’m talking about Messi because of the blowjob he gave,” Canelo’s tweet translates.
“Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag,” Alvarez tweeted. “He better pray to God that I don’t find him,” he continued. As for Alvarez, he is a well-known name in boxing, having won 58 of his 62 fights. His net worth is estimated to be in the $280 million range.
Because there is no Mexico flag in sight throughout the entire clip, Alvarez may have simply been told what Messi did before furiously tweeting.
Here are Canelo Alvarez’s Tweets

Lionel Messi’s efforts keep Argentina alive in the FIFA World Cup 2022
In the meantime, the two-time champions had a rough start to the tournament. The world’s third-ranked team played their first game against the 51st-ranked Saudi Arabia. The former champions were expected to easily defeat the Asian team. The Green Brigade, on the other hand, caused an upset by winning 2-1. Messi gave his team an early advantage in the game, but the rest of the players could not hold on.
Messi (64?) and Fernandez (87?) scored in a must-win game against Mexico to keep the team alive in the Round of 16 race. To advance to the next round, the South American team must defeat Poland on November 30. Not to mention that the team’s goal difference is positive, which bodes well for the team.
