Bollywood actor R Madhavan’s son has won a Silver Medal in the Danish Open Swimming Competition in Copenhagen. Junior Madhvan achieved this milestone at the age of 16. The teenager clocked 15.57.86 in the men’s 1500m freestyle event to finish at the second spot on April 15. Notably, this isn’t the first time the teenager has won a medal for the country. In March last year, he won the bronze medal at the Latvia Open.
Meanwhile, the veteran actor shared a video of his son getting the medal. The former shared the video on his official Instagram account. In the caption of the video, he thanked his son’s coach, Pradeep, and the Swimming Federation of India. He added the nation is proud of his son’s efforts.

Apart from Vedaant, Sajan Prakash from India also shone in an another tournament. Prakash has won the gold medal in the men’s 200m butterfly. Notably, he was competing in his first international tournament and clocked 1.59.27 to finish at the top on April 15. Before this, the Kerala swimmer, who trains under the same coach as Vedaant, had clocked 2.03.67 in the heats to qualify for the ‘A’ final.
On the other hand, Shakthi Balakrishnan finished second in the ‘B’ Final. Also, she was eighth overall in the women’s 400m medley with timing of 5:10:71. The fourth Indian swimmer who competed in the tournament, Tanish George Mathew, finished 29th in 50m freestyle heats with a timing of 24:29.
